G.Na, who has now become “Top Girl” in the K-Pop scene has returned this summer with her second mini-album. The title track is “Top Girl”, which was co-composed by hit maker Kim Do Hun and producer Lee Sang Ho and penned by Wheesung. The addictive, strong melodies and polished sounds show G.Na’s confidence as the title suggests. Another song worth mentioning is “Banana” which the singer took part in penning herself. “Without You” on the other hand is a ballad with string arrangements while “Icon” is a song with an addictive hook.

The soundtrack for top weekend drama series, “Scent of a Woman” is finally out for purchase! Jaejoong Gets New Hairdo for “Protect the Boss”

JYJ’s Jaejoong has gotten a new hairdo called, “Dandy Wolf Cut,” for his Cha Moo Won role in SBS drama “Protect the Boss.” In a photo revealed today, Jaejoong is seen sporting a slightly different look from previous episodes, making many wonder what motivated his change in style.

According to the production crew, Jaejoong got the new hairstyle because Cha Moo Won, Jaejoong’s role in “Protect the Boss,” has recently been rejected by Na Yoon (Wang Ji Hye’s role) and tension between him and Ji Hun is starting to intensify. Jaejoong wanted to reflect the renewed focus and commitment in his role through this new hairstyle.

“After getting a new hairstyle, the way I treat my role has changed a bit. I’m starting to feel like I should work harder to better-portray the sharp image of Moo Won in the drama,” Jaejoong said.

Here is their story:
It was August 19, 2006 when YG entertainment officially launched BIGBANG, a 5-member group at its YG Family concert. G-Dragon, Taeyang, TOP, Daesung and Seungri were selected based on their talents and have endured training for two years as a group, although G-Dragon and Taeyang have been training together since 2001. Today, VIPs (Official Fanclub) are more than ecstatic to celebrate 5 wonderful years of diverse music and personalities.

BBVIPZ.com, the biggest fansite in Korea for BIGBANG, spearheaded a stop motion video project and asked the participation of International fans, more commonly known as the I-VIPs. The Soompi VIP community joined the project along with Bigbang Indonesia, Bigbang Philippines, Bigbangupdates, and BigbangVIP.

Preparations started last July 25 when these fansites/forums asked their members to write a 10-word congratulatory message for BIGBANG. The messages were hand written by the moderators on post-its and these were arranged into a specific shape assigned to by BBVIPZ. Each fansite/forum took photos of their collection of post-its in order to be made into a video. It was a tedious process since it was challenging to achieve the exact proportions asked by BBVIPZ and it took almost 5 trials to get it right.

Kang Dong Won and Song Hye Gyo Kiss for "Love for Sale"

Pictures of Kang Dong Won and Song Hye Gyo, showing their characters in a kiss for the “Love for Sale” segment of the omnibus film “Camellia” surface online.

Kang and Song’s segment, directed by Jang Joon Hwan is set in the future, when buying and selling memories are common. Kang’s character Jay attempts to retrieve his memory of lost love and his ex-girlfriend Bora, played by Song.
The omnibus film “Camellia,” formerly titled the “Busan Project” is centered around the southern port city. Along with Jang’s “Love for Sale,” Thai director Wisit Sasanatieng’s “Iron lion king” and Japanese filmmaker Isao Yukisada’s “Kamome” complete the 2010 Pusan International Film Festival entry.

“Camellia” will be on domestic theatrical release on November 2011.

BEAST to Reenter the Japanese Haneda Airport, “We Will Have No Problem Going Through”

On August 24^th, BEAST will head towards the Haneda airport once more, in order to attend the “United Cube in Japan” promotions that will be held on August 25^th.

Cube Entertainment stated, “This time around we have brought all of the necessary visas and documents, we will have no problem going through the immigration inspection. BEAST will successfully finish the concert and return to Korea with 4minute on August 26^th.”

The reason BEAST’s entering the Haneda airport is gaining attention is because they couldn’t go through the immigration inspection because of visa problems on August 16^th. They were holed up for 8 hours.
Cube Entertainment stated, “When you have a concert in Japan you need to have a ‘Concert Visa,’ however, we received false information from FET (the ones taking care of the event), this promotion is not a concert and is a press conference. Before FET had to provide us with a visa.” The FET had an official apology for BEAST fans on its website.

On August 20^th, BEAST successfully finished a concert in Niigata. On that day they appeared at MBC’s “K-Pop All Star Live in Niigata” alongside SNSD, Kara, 2PM, 2AM, CN Blue, Secret, and SISTAR.

Super Junior and Jay Park Greet Boom at Military Discharge Ceremony

Boom was officially discharged from Korean military service on August 22^nd. And to celebrate the occasion, Super Junior’s Lee Teuk, Eun Hyuk, and Shin Dong, as well as Jay Park all made it to the discharge ceremony held in front of the Ministry of National Defense.

Although it was early in the morning, all four celebrities made it on time to the ministry to greet Boom and celebrate his completion of the two year mandatory military service. Their presence was met with quite a surprise because you rarely see celebrities come out to greet someone get discharged from military, unless you have personal or special ties with that person (but it’s common to see celebrities come and bid farewell to fellow stars on the enlistment day).

Super Junior’s relationship with Boom goes back to 2009. They were starring in SBS “Strong Heart” at the time and had their weekly segment called “Boom Academy,” featuring Boom, Lee Teuk, and Eun Hyuk. “Boom Academy” later earned them the “Best Rookie Award: Variety Show” at the 2009 SBS TV Show Awards. And later that year, Lee Teuk and Eun Hyuk shed tears at Boom’s enlistment ceremony, showing their close friendship.

For Jay Park, Boom was one of the strongest supporters when he went through the controversy in 2009 involving his MySpace comments. Boom was one of the very few celebrities who openly voiced his support for Jay Park when he withdrew from 2PM, as he wrote on his personal home page, “My heart is shattered right now because he’s a brother I truly love. I trust my brother and love him so much, so I believe he will come back stronger after this ordeal. Today, my heart just hurts so bad. Jaebum (Jay’s Korean name), I will do my best and work harder to greet you with a warm heart when you come back. Hope you return healthy. I love you.”

Meanwhile, Boom is expected to immediately return to the industry. He’s scheduled to return to SBS “Strong Heart” soon and will start hosting SBS radio “Young Street” from September 1^st.

It’s Official: Lee Min Ho’s Agency Confirms Relationship with Park Min Young

Following conflicting reports over Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young’s dating rumors, Lee Min Ho’s agency, StarHaus Entertainment, just released a statement confirming their relationship.

“We think there were some miscommunications on our part. We just wanted to be cautious with some media outlets using the word ‘Yul Ae (ed’s note: passionately in love in Korean)’ to describe their relationship, especially when they’re just starting to get to know each other now,” an official from StarHaus told Star Today in a phone interview.
Just a few hours after news broke out of their dating rumors this morning, StarHaus denied the report as false, saying it’s “hard to call it a romantic relationship.”

“The two have known each other for a long time, and it seems like they were able to rely on each other through the rigorous filming process of ‘City Hunter.’ It is true that they are dating each other,” the official said.

So it’s official—Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young are indeed dating each other! (just make sure you don’t say they’re passionately in love). Hope this clarifies any confusion you might have had over their relationship!
